Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Biblical Ministries Program
I chose to come to Belhaven - because of the friends I already had here. Since I was able to work in the Shoe Bird Cafe on campus during my senior year of high school, I already knew the campus well, and it made the transition from high school to college easier. The values and genuine concern that people of Belhaven had for one another was also a major factor. I wanted to be in a place where even the most simple things reflected service and dedication to the Lord and to building and equipping the Body to make an impact on the world.
One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University - someone I met during Freshman Pre-Registration who has become one of my closest friends. Chelsea King is a great blessing in my life, and without Belhaven, that wouldn't have become a reality. Our similarities work well together, and our differences pave the way for great learning experiences. Diversity in our cultures, thought processes, and even study habits have helped me better understand myself and others.
Because of my degree from Belhaven University... I can continue working for a church, as I have done since Freshman year, do missions, work with Christian organizations, or pursue graduate education at a Seminary.... there are TONS of things I have been looking into. I will probably go to Seminary after I graduate and pursue a career in Biblical Counseling. The Biblical Studies Department has introduced me to many different concepts for ministry, and with my Belhaven degree I feel confident that I will be prepared for any ministry that the Lord leads me into.
One word to describe your experience at Belhaven: Challenging. (Through challenging my faith, Belhaven has taught me to love God more each day and to strive for His will instead of my own through everyday situations. That's the best thing I could have asked for in a college experience)!
