Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Creative Writing Program

I chose to come to Belhaven because… of the excellent Dance Department, actually. I came to Belhaven as a Dance major, and then switched to Creative Writing. It was really cool to see how God used dance to get me here, because I would not have looked at a school so far from home for any other reason. After I switched my major I found out that Belhaven is the only Christian college in the Nation that has a BFA in Creative Writing!

One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University… It's very difficult to pick just one relationship. I have met so many incredible people while at school here! Some of the best relationships I have made have been through campus life or RUF, a student ministry on campus. You just have to involve yourself in activities, and you meet plenty of people. I have also grown a lot from the small teacher/student ratio, which means that your professors (in my case, Dr. Smith) can get to know you very well.

Because of my degree from Belhaven University…  I will be able to teach Creative Writing or English in private high schools, work on the editing staff of a magazine, literary journal, or publishing company, do freelance writing, or perhaps become a world-famous novelist...

One word to describe your experience at Belhaven:  Revolutionary!
