I chose to come to Belhaven because... of the Christ-centered dance program. I attended a Ballet Magnificat ballet intensive held on the Belhaven campus, and I fell in love with the school. I came for dance, but I stayed for the amazing political science program.
One relationship that meant a lot to me while attending Belhaven University... is impossible to choose! Dr. Phillips was the greatest advisor and professor. He has an unbelievable wealth of knowledge about political theory, history, and practice, plus he was supportive and interested in my life. I also met some of my best lifelong friends at Belhaven -though we may not live in the same residence hall anymore, the friendships we started there continue to grow and mature.
Because of my degree from Belhaven University... I am more passionate about justice and more knowledgeable about our country's laws and political history. I was also accepted into a graduate program for Higher Education Administration, where I am learning how to help future students have the same incredible college experience that I had at Belhaven.
One word to describe my experience at Belhaven: Life-changing. Technically, that may be two words, but you can't fit the Belhaven experience into one simple word. The people I met, the classes I took, the challenges that came my way, and the opportunities I was given all showed me more about myself and my place in God's kingdom. I am so glad that God blessed me with such a place to grow.
