Student and Alumni Spotlights for the Dance Program

I chose to come to Belhaven because…It is a Christian college that is very in tune with the importance of incorporating faith and excellence in whatever profession I wanted to pursue.

One relationship that has meant a lot to me while attending
Belhaven University…is the opportunity to be under Mrs. Cynthia Newland's leadership. She demonstrates what it means to be a Christian artist in her high expectations, work ethic, and her genuine and unselfish love for God as well as people. She's been a great counselor and encouragement to me.

Because of my degree from Belhaven University…I will be able to share the gift of creativity through movement in a multitude of capacities. I can teach, perform, be involved in the technical and administrative aspects of production, as well as pursue further education in the dance field.

One word to describe my experience at Belhaven: Treasured. From the moment I decided to attend Belhaven, I felt like it was going to be, quite simply, the "right place" for me. It has proven to be that and more. The awesome teaching from a Christian perspective, the relationships I've developed, and the activities I've been able to be a part of have really made my time here something that I will always appreciate.
