Dr. Benjamin Carr

Education

• B.S., Mississippi College
• M.S., Ph.D., University of Southern Mississippi

Dr. Carr came to Belhaven in 2009 from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he served as an Exercise Science instructor while completing his Ph.D. in Human Performance (with an Exercise Physiology emphasis). Having completed his undergraduate degree at a Christian university, Dr. Carr jumped at the opportunity to return to Christian higher education, where he could carry out the directive of 1 Peter 5:2 (shepherding God's flock).

Dr. Carr is passionate about all things related to health and wellness, especially exercise and nutrition. He views the human body as the pinnacle of creation and believes it is mankind's responsibility to be good stewards of these "temples". When he's not busy teaching students about the wondrous inner-workings of the body, Dr. Carr enjoys his at-home time with his wife Jess and son Maverick.
