Professor Hendrix has a combined 30+ years of experience in both public accounting and industry. In public accounting, she worked with clients to provide auditing, income tax, and small business consulting services to big and small firms. For the past 17 years, she worked as a corporate financial controller for a local private investment firm focused on the timber and lumber manufacturing industry.

Professor Hendrix began teaching undergraduate accounting courses at Millsaps College in 2002 and graduate-level courses in 2005. The last class she taught at Millsaps was in 2018. She started teaching at Belhaven in the fall of 2023 as an adjunct and full-time faculty in spring 2024. Teaching full-time has been her dream for many years. She believes it is a rare opportunity and a privilege to serve the Lord in ministry at a Christ-centered institution like Belhaven University, preparing others for a career in the exciting accounting field.

Professor Hendrix is mother to her beloved grown son, Daniel Martin, who lives in Slidell, Louisiana, and is excited to be gaining a daughter, Michelle, when they wed in April 2024. During and after her husband’s illness and death (in 2014), she drew especially close to the Lord and discovered the power of His word, especially when spoken out loud. This life-changing experience has given her a deep love of the Lord and a wonderful testimony.

Her interests include gardening, particularly medicinal herbs and plants and woodland gardens. She also loves writing, especially devotionals, and sharing God’s word and the love of Jesus Christ.

Professor Hendrix’s community service includes board service and leadership and leading small groups at her church for the children’s and women’s ministries.
