Students, faculty and staff are getting back in the swing of things on campus at Belhaven, and that also means our annual, Arts Ablaze calendar is filling up. Below are a few events of note for August and September.

David Lambert Exhibition
Airshow
Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center, Gallery.
Opening reception is Thursday, August 28, 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
A sculptural installation of 100 airplanes assembled from found objects, which is sure to make your imagination soar. David Lambert’s work can be found in several museum permanent collections such as Morris Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and the Mississippi Museum of Art. Complimentary admission.

Ecclesiastes
Devised and Directed by Joseph Frost
7:30 pm, Flexible Theatre
A performance based on the Old Testament book of wisdom, with original music provided by members of the Belhaven Composer’s Forum. General admission $10, Seniors/Students/Children $5. Complimentary admission for Belhaven faculty/staff/students and immediate families. Doors open at 7:00 pm.

Preston Chamber Music Series, An Evening of Diamonds I

Ana Catalina Ramirez, Principal Clarinetist of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of Latin American chamber music. Dr. Stephen Sachs is her accompanist.
