On November 4th, the Belhaven College Chamber Orchestra will present two famous works: Verklarte Nacht, Op. 4 by Arnold Schoenberg and Symphony No. 5 in C Minor by Ludwig van Beethoven. Mr. Song Xie will direct Verklarte Nacht, Op. 4, which is translated “Transfigured Night.” This piece is hailed as the first important work of Arnold Schoenberg, who is a key figure in 20th century musical history.
Following intermission, the Belhaven College and Jackson Community Symphony Orchestra will present the celebrated Symphony No. 5 in C Minor by Ludwig van Beethoven, under the baton of Dr. Stephen Sachs.
