Belhaven welcomes twelve new faculty members, including a Vice Provost and Dean, to the 2008-2009 Academic Year. The Business, Dance, Biblical Studies, Art and Education departments, as well as the library will increase in numbers with these new additions, taking place across three campuses. Belhaven is excited to add numbers to our growing staff of quality instructors and looks forward to the year ahead!

MR. CHARLIE GAUDIN, Librarian, comes to Belhaven from the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library at Tulane University where he served as Reference Librarian. He has also served at the Law Library of Louisiana, Jefferson Parish Library and the Lafourche Parish Public Library. Charlie received his B.S. from Florida State University, his M.B.A. from Auburn University and his M.L.S. from Louisiana State University.
DR. BLAKE HURST, Assistant Professor of Business Administration (Memphis campus), is currently serving as adjunct at Belhaven upon returning to the U.S. after living abroad in Singapore and Australia. Blake received his B.A. from the University of Houston, his M.A. from Austin Presbyterian Seminary, his J.D. from Stanford University, his graduate diploma in Human Resource Management from Edith Cowan University and is currently working on his doctorate from Rice University.
MR. PAUL HUSBAND, Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, has been serving as an adjunct at Belhaven for the past three years and as counselor at Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare of Mississippi. Paul received his B.A. from Belhaven College and his M.A. from Reformed Theological Seminary.
MRS. BETSY MCMILLAN, Specialty Instructor of Dance, has been an adjunct at Belhaven for the past two years. Betsy was Soloist Danseuse at Ballet Magnificat prior to coming to Belhaven. Her training has been with the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston and with the Professional Division of the Houston Ballet School.
MRS. NAN MOAK, Reference/Databases Librarian, joins us after having been Reference Librarian/Branch Manager at Holmes Community College. She also has experience from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and the Troy E. Middleton Regional Depository Library. Nan received her B.A. from The University of Southern Mississippi and her M.L.S. from Louisiana State University.
DR. PAUL MOYERS, Assistant Professor of Business, is returning to Belhaven to continue instructing in the School of Business. Paul received his B.S. in Business from Murray State University, his M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
MR. JOHN OPINCAR, Assistant Professor of Business (Houston campus), has spent the last two years as adjunct at Belhaven. He also served as Practitioner Faculty at University of Phoenix. John received his B.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy, his M.B.A. from Michigan State University and is currently working on his doctorate at the University of Phoenix.
MRS. ERIN ROCKWELL, Specialty Instructor of Dance, has been an adjunct at Belhaven for the past year. She has also instructed at California State University, Long Beach and choreographed and performed with Notes in Motion, Inc. in New York. Erin received her B.A. from St. Olaf College and recently received her M.F.A. from California State University, Long Beach.
DR. STEVEN RODRIGUEZ, State Dean (Houston campus), joins us after having taught as an adjunct since the opening of the Houston campus. He also has taught at University of Phoenix, Kaplan University, DeVry University and University of Houston. Steven received both his B.M.E.and M.S.Ed. from Baylor University and recently received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.
DR. GLENN SUMRALL, Vice Provost and Dean of Arts & Sciences, comes to us after serving as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Louisiana College and has been involved in Christian higher education for over thirty years. Glenn received his B.S. from Southeastern Louisiana University and M.S. and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University.
MR. JON TYSON, Specialty Instructor of Art, has instructed at Clinton Alternative School and Raymond Elementary School and most recently as an adjunct at Belhaven for the past year. Jon received his B.S. and M.Ed. from Mississippi College.
DR. AMBER WHITWORTH, Assistant Professor of English and Education, has been a middle school English teacher for the past two years at Catholic Diocese, Holy Rosary School. Amber received her B.A., her M.A., and her Ed.D. from The University of Memphis.
