The Belhaven Athletics program is devoted to developing more than just the athletic abilities of its players. The coaches and staff seek to constantly integrate ways to strengthen the character of their teams. A recent example of this is the leadership of Coach Rick Fremin with the Lady Blazers Softball Team.
The Lady Blazers Softball team recently spent a day at the Mustard Seed, a community devoted to caring for people with developmental disabilities, located in Brandon, Mississippi. This outreach opportunity proved to be a fun and refreshing time for all involved. The Lady Blazers played board games, danced and sang, and played softball games with these developmentally disabled men and women. Overall, it was a day filled with laughter and memories will last a lifetime.
