Dr. Ervin Martin, Associate Professor of Business Administration, will lead four Belhaven students to the annual Ethics Symposium hosted by the First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. They will interact with over 150 students from other church-affiliated institutions on the east coast. These four handpicked students will strive to apply their Christian worldview to the discussions at the Ethics Symposium. Discussions are led by retired CEOs and CFOs who present real-life ethical dilemmas to groups of 8-10 students, who discuss the possible outcomes and solutions.
Most schools in attendance are not in agreement with moral absolutes, so the Ethics Symposium gives Belhaven students an opportunity to express how biblical principles help solve ethical issues that affect America today. Dr. Martin says that Belhaven students consistently come away from the symposium with an increased appreciation for receiving an education that helps them deal with ethical issues from a Christian worldview.
