October 26, 2011 (Jackson) - Faculty and students from the University of Mississippi will take the stage for a moving performance called An Evening of Diamonds.
From the Preston Chamber Music Series, An Evening of Diamonds with the University of Mississippi Faculty and Student Ensembles, will be on Tuesday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. Faculty and student musicians from the University of Mississippi ensemble will be under the direction of Dr. Ronald Vernon.
This concert will present J. S. Bach’s Concerto for Two Pianos in C Minor, BWV 1060 with faculty soloists Stacy Rodgers and Diane Wang, and Stravinsky’s L’histoire du Soldat (The Soldier’s Tale).
This musical offering will be at Belhaven’s Center for the Arts, Concert Hall and is the first installment of an exchange concert series between the two universities. Admission is free and the doors open at 7:00 p.m.
