April 4, 2011: Belhaven University graduate, Gloria Miller, was honored by the Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi for her commitment and contributions to the HEADWEA (Higher-Education Day - Working for Academic Success) program. The HEADWEA program was established by Mississippi State Legislator in 1987 as a way of honoring talented students and faculty of Mississippi higher education institutes. Its goal is to encourage excellence, increase knowledge, and promote good citizens prepared to meet future challenges.
She is currently the Coordinator of Student Affairs and P-20 Initiatives for the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. Miller received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2007 from Belhaven University and is pursuing her Masters in Public Policy and Administration from JSU. "Encouraging people that higher education is attainable has been a goal of mine throughout my career," says Miller. "It is an honor to be recognized."
