January 17, 2011: On January 31st through February 1st, 2011, Belhaven University will hold Honors Day, a special event for accepted students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, a test score of at least 23 on the ACT or 1050 on the SAT (combined critical reading and math).
"Honors Day is a great day for the scholarship committee to meet and get to know these students who are considering Belhaven as one of their top college choices," said Suzanne Sullivan, Director of Admission. "We are looking for students we know will be successful and great leaders on our campus. It’s an opportunity for those that aren’t in arts or athletics to compete for scholarship dollars."
On Monday the 31st, this group will be participating in a campus tour, dinner, and special presentation by Dr. Dan Fredericks, Provost of Belhaven University. Tuesday each student will interview with the Scholarship Committee, visit a class, and attend a host of other events. Parents can also meet with the Financial Aid staff. "If a student meets the requirements for honors day found on our Honors Day website and is accepted for admission by January 21, he or she will receive an invitation to attend," Sullivan added.
