February 17, 2011: Belhaven University Music Department presents "The Light in the Piazza," based on the novella by 1942 Belhaven graduate, Elizabeth Spencer, will be performed in the Center for the Arts Blackbox Theatre. The shows will be March 3-5 at 7:30 pm.
"A wonderfully talented cast will surely bring this thought provoking musical drama to life," said Dr. Stephen Sachs, Chair of the Music Department.
"The Light in the Piazza" opened on Broadway April 18, 2005. This tale of romance begs the question, do the eyes of God or the eyes of man provide the value judgment of a human being who is mentally challenged? There is complimentary admission and reserved tickets are available by emailing Valerie Tate at vtate@belhaven.edu. The doors open at 7:00 pm in the Center for the Arts located on 835 Riverside Drive.
