The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) elected Dr. Chip Mason, Dean of Belhaven School of Business, to a second term on the IACBE Board of Commissioners. The announcement was made at the IACBE annual conference in Kansas City, Missouri on April 18-20, 2012.
Dan Fredricks, Provost of Belhaven University, said, “IACBE will continue to have an experienced and wise member in Dr. Mason. His leadership of Belhaven University School of Business has seen an increase from a couple hundred to a couple thousand. Were proud he representing us.”
The eight-member Board of Commissioners is the accreditation decision-making body of the IACBE. The commissioners evaluate the educational quality of programs seeking accreditation and determine which programs become accredited.
Dr. Mason has been an active participant in the IACBE, including serving as a peer reviewer on accreditation site visit teams and already serving one term on the board.
The IACBE was founded in 1997 and is the leader in mission-driven and outcomes-based programmatic accreditation in business for student-centered colleges and universities throughout the world. The IACBE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in business education in institutions of higher education worldwide, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, through specialized accreditation of business programs.
