July 17, 2012 (Jackson) - We are pleased to introduce 12 new faculty members to Belhaven University’s growing family. These professors are coming from a variety of backgrounds and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with students. Please join us in welcoming these new faculty members.
DR. PHILIP CARLSON, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics, received his B.S. from Wayland Baptist University and has been a research and teaching assistant for the past five years until completing his Ph.D. from Iowa State University.
MRS. KRISTA PIEPER BOWER, Specialty Instructor of Dance, has been an adjunct instructor atBelhaven for the past five years as well as owner and director of the YazooCity School of Dance. Krista received her B.F.A. from Belhaven University and is a candidate for her M.F.A. in Choreography from Jacksonville University.
DR. JEFFREY BRANNON, Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, most recently taught at Christ Bible Seminary in Nagoya, Japan. Jeff received his B.S. from Samford University, his M.Div. from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Florida and his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
DR. JOHN ESTES, Assistant Professor and Chairman of Mathematics, has been serving as a course instructor for the past four years and conducting research. John received his B.S. from Oral Roberts University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from The University of Mississippi.
DR. MARILYN EVANS, Assistant Professor of Education and Chair of Undergraduate Teacher Education, has been an adjunct faculty member for the past year at our Houston campus. Marilyn has a B.S. from Jackson State University, her M.A. is from University of Phoenix and her Ed.D. is from Texas Southern University.
DR. TRACY FORD, Dean of Worldview Studies, has been an adjunct faculty member for Belhaven for the past fourteen years. Tracy has her B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Georgia, her M.A. in Missions from Reformed Theological Seminary, her M.A. in English from Mississippi College and her Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi.
MR. STEWART HAWLEY, Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, brings ten plus years of teaching and musical theatre experience to Belhaven. Stewart received his B.S. and M.F.A. from the University of Houston and is currently working on his Ph.D. at Bowling Green State University.
DR. BARBARA JOHNSON, Assistant Professor of Health Administration, has taught at the undergraduate level in healthcare administration and at graduate level in public health and health policy for the past seven years. Barbara received her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing and her Ph.D. in Nursing Curriculum and Research from Georgia State University.
DR. NATHAN KIRKPATRICK, Assistant Professor of Sports Administration, has taught, served as a coach and athletic administrator. Nathan received his B.A. from Covenant College, his M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.
MS. ANGELA LEE, Assistant Professor and Chair of the Graphic Design Department, has over seven years of teaching experience and fourteen years experience in the field of graphic design. Angela received her B.F.A. from Belmont University, her M.A. from Austin Peay State University and is completing her M.F.A. at Azusa Pacific University.
DR. KENNETH NEHRBASS, Assistant Professor of International Studies, has spent the last twelve years as a Bible translation advisor, adjunct professor and lecturer on the islands of Vanuatu off of Australia’s coast. Ken received his B.A. from the University of California, his M.Div. from the Anderson School of Theology and his Ph.D. from Biola University.
DR. DAVID RIDDERING, Assistant Professor of Business, comes to Belhaven from Puerto Rico and brings his experience as a minister, business development manager for the Bank of Nova Scotia and skills as an instructor. David received his B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from Inter-American University.
MS. MARIANNE SAVELL, Assistant Professor of Theatre, brings her fourteen years of experience as a professional actor, director, teacher and adjunct professor from Los Angeles to Belhaven. Marianne received her B.A. from Mississippi College and her M.F. A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
MRS. ANITA TRIGG,Assistant Professor of Social Work, has been working as a Medical Social Worker at Baptist Health Systems as well as an adjunct faculty member at Belhaven. Anita received her B.A. from Samford University, her M.A. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and her M.S.W. from Southern University of New Orleans.
