June 26, 2012 (Jackson) - Rachel Earnheart was recently recognized as Belhaven University’s Outstanding Teacher Intern for the 2011-2012 school year. The Mississippi Association of Colleges for Teacher Education honored Earnheart and other recipients during a ceremony at the Jackson Forestry and Agricultural Museum.
Currently pursuing her Master of Education at Belhaven University, Earnheart did her student internship in the Pearl Public SchoolDistrict for the 5th grade. Her love for teaching started early; “Coming from a family of teachers, I realized at an early age that teaching was a calling for me. Dr. Sandra Rasberry, Dean of the School of Education, said, “Rachel demonstrated both academic knowledge and leadership skills as she completed her student internship. She was creative and innovative in her approach to teaching and incorporated a wide variety of differentiated experiences to accommodate for the diverse learners in her charge.”
