September 17, 2013 (Jackson) - For one night only, renowned classical guitarist Andrew Stroud will be performing at the Belhaven University Concert Hall on September 20 at 7:30 p.m. This concert will have complimentary admission and the doors will open at 7 pm. Stroud is from Corsham, England and is a celebrated international performer, who has enjoyed success at top competitions in the United States, Canada and Chile.
Stroud's artistry is considered among the finest in his field. By the time he left the England for the United States at the age of 10, Stroud had already given his first public recitals and had passed his Royal Conservatory exams with honors. Stroud has traveled the world performing in a number of memorable venues as a soloist and as a duo with Adam Larison.
Some of Stroud's other endeavors have included lectures, master-classes and teaching. Stroud has been a faculty member of Stetson University's Community School for the Arts, Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College, Chipola College, Thomas University, and as a guest of schools throughout Florida. He has published and recorded for the Hands on Teaching method, and has been published in Soundboard magazine. His performances have been featured on NPR and television documentaries across the country.
