September 23, 2014 (Jackson) - The Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) awarded Meredith Keeton, a prestigious scholarship that is offered to one accounting student at each of the universities and colleges in Mississippi. Keeton, a junior majoring in accounting at Belhaven, was given the scholarship based on her high GPA and character. She received a total amount of $3,000.
Dr. Geoffrey Goldsmith, Professor and Chair of Accounting, said, Meredith met and exceeded all of the qualifications. She is an outstanding student! According to Dr. Goldsmith, the scholarship will not only help Keeton finance her education, but it will be a tremendous addition to her résumé when she begins looking for an accounting position. It is an honor for her to win the scholarship, it will put her on the radar of CPAs with the state's MSCPA leadership.
