April 2, 2014 (Jackson) - On April 10, Belhaven will honor Dr. Howard J. Cleland, former president, for his leadership that changed the face of this University. In memory of Dr. Cleland, the Student Affairs building (The Cube) has been named the Howard Cleland Hall.
Please join us Thursday, April 10 as we celebrate Dr. Cleland through this building dedication at 11:00 a.m. in front of the south side of the building.
Dr. Cleland became President of Belhaven College in 1961. His 17-year tenure saw the expansion of the student body, the growth of campus through new buildings, and accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
