October 27, 2014 (Jackson) - Belhaven University's Creative Writing Department will host writer Tony Woodlief for a reading tonight from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Student Center Theater. Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend this free event.
Woodlief's creative non-fiction essays have appeared in The Wall Street Journal and The London Times, and his spiritual memoir, Somewhere More Holy, was listed among Image Journal's top ten works of 2010. His short stories-two of which have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes-have appeared in Ruminate, Image Journal, and Saint Katherine Review. His newly completed novel, The Dead Boy, is currently being considered by various publishers. In December 2013, Image Journal picked Woodlief as its Artist of the Month.
