February 3, 2014 (Jackson) - The Belhaven Dance Department will present an evening of worship through dance from the Dance Ministry Ensemble on February 13-15. This annual concert at the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Studio Theatre features a select group of students, faculty and special guests who use the art of dance as a way to inspire and encourage others.
“Through the creation and performance of original dance works, our vision is to use the art of dance to honor the Lord and serve our community,” said Krista Bower, Dance Ministry Ensemble Co-Director and Specialty Instructor of Dance.
During 2013-2014, the ensemble has performed at places like Sunnybrook Children Home, The Mustard Seed, St. Catherine Village and Baptist Adult Day Services. Members of the ensemble have been collaborating with a group of teenagers at Methodist Children Home each week and their combined dance choreography will premiere at this upcoming concert.
Concert dates and times include:
Thursday, February 13 at 11 a.m.
Friday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m.
There will be complimentary admission for all Belhaven faculty, students and immediate family. For others, general admission will be $10 and $5 for all seniors and non-Belhaven University students.
