November 13, 2014 (Jackson) - The 2014 Instrumental Arts Concert on Tuesday, November 18 will feature Belhaven's Wind, Percussion Jazz, Jazz and Classical Guitar Ensembles. This free concert in the Belhaven University Center for the Arts Concert Hall will begin at 7:30 p.m. and include a diverse range of music and an exciting mix of instruments.
“Come and experience a new and unique combination of chords and timbres as the Wind Ensemble moves to the contemporary avenue and performs some of the newer music in the wind band repertoire,” said Dr. Paxton Girtmon, Associate Professor of Music.
With a variety of ensembles, a convergence of improvisational genres and styles will deliver a unique musical flavor! This concert is a musical stew with all the ingredients including contemporary jazz, some original Belhaven Blues and a side dish of some Gospel music, all jazzed up.
