October 28, 2014 (Jackson) -Jazz meets classical at Belhaven's next Preston Chamber Music Series. An Evening of Diamonds I - Claude Bolling Extravaganza takes place on Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall. Belhaven's music faculty will feature selections from Bolling's famous suites and sonatas for jazz piano trio and classical soloists.
Dr. Stephen Sachs, piano, Richard Brown, bassist and Owen Rockwell, set percussionist, form the trio.Soloists include Sybil Cheesman, flute, Nancy Bateman, cello, Lloyd Turner, trumpet and Carolyn Sachs, piano. Admission is free and the doors will open at 7:00 p.m.
