Over the past three years, audiences have enjoyed Belhaven's productions Little Red Riding Hood, The Toy Shop, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Maker of Illusions by composer Seymour Barab is a story full of lessons about our need for a change of heart and will feature characters such as the Wicked Queen, Genie, Wise Old Woman, Determined Brother, Heroic Sister and a hilarious troupe of Goblins who must do the Genie's bidding.
Performance dates include:
Friday, January 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, January 24 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Dr. Shelt, Coordinator of Vocal Arts, said, "Seymour Barab's children operas are the best in that category because they are high quality musically, and vocally demanding and their stories are aimed at children."
