MNF Scholarship Awarded
Ms. Rosalyn Howard, Executive Director of Mississippi Nurses Foundation (MNF), presented nursing major Kaley Wilcox a scholarship on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Through the generosity of the late Emma Burdonne Young, MNF gives the scholarship to nursing students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership and community involvement. Wilcox is a senior and serves as thetreasurer for the Student Nurse Organization. She has been active in other areas including community activities and fund raising.
Upcoming CCNE Accreditation Site Visit - CCNE Third-Party Comments
In other news, the Belhaven University School of Nursing will host the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) February 24-26, 2016. The CCNE will conduct their initial on-site evaluation for national accreditation of Belhaven's B.S.N. programs. CCNE, an autonomous accrediting entity, is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to accredit baccalaureate and graduate degree programs in nursing.
CCNE provides the opportunity for current students, alumni, faculty, employers, clinical agencies and the community at-large to provide written input regarding Belhaven's nursing program. During the review of the program, the CCNE evaluation team considers third party comments that relate to the accreditation standards.
Your feedback is valuable and appreciated. Third-party comments are confidential and shared only with the evaluation team. Please be aware that at no time during the review process are these comments shared with the program. You are cordially invited to submit your written feedback no later than 30 days prior to the site visit. All written and signed feedback will be accepted by CCNE until January 25, 2016 and should be directed to:
