April 13, 2015 (Jackson) - The Belhaven University Dance Ensemble will showcase choreography from dance faculty and guest artists. The 2015 Spring Dance Concert will begin on April 17 in Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Studio Theatre and include a range of styles including classical and contemporary ballet as well as traditional and contemporary modern dance. Also, a collaborative work between Erin and Owen Rockwell will utilize various dance styles with live percussion.
The Spring Dance Concert consists of many new and exciting dance works, said Cynthia Newland, Associate Professor of Dance and Chair of the Dance Department. Audience members will not want to miss the new and innovative dances created by renowned guest artists Steve Rooks, Michael Beardon and SungYong Kim.
General admission is $10 and $5 for seniors and students. Admission is free for Belhaven faculty, staff, students and their immediate families. Performance dates include:
Friday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 23 at 11 a.m.
Friday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m.
