January 9, 2015 (Jackson) - Dr. Roger Parrott, Belhaven University President, and Dr. Jason L. Walton, Jackson Prep Head of School, signed a first-of-a-kind Memorandum of Understanding on November 24, 2014, outlining the terms of a Tuition Exchange and Scholarship Program. The Tuition Exchange Program begins August 1, 2015 and will mutually benefit both institutions.
I am thrilled to be able to offer this significant tuition savings to the dependents of Belhaven's full-time faculty and staff. As independent institutions both working in the greater Jackson-area, it only makes sense that we should explore ways to strengthen our relationship and mutually benefit one another. This program represents the start of many new opportunities for both institutions, stated Dr. Walton.
Under the program, dependents of full-time faculty and staff of Belhaven's main campus in Jackson who qualify for admission to Jackson Prep will be offered a 30% tuition discount. In exchange, Jackson Prep graduates will be offered a 40% tuition discount or scholarship.
Dr. Parrott stated, To be able to partner with Jackson Prep to offer this opportunity to our Belhaven employees represents an innovative expansion of employee benefits. Belhaven employees will now have greater access to one of Jackson's premier independent schools.
Jackson Prep has always been an outstanding value among independent institutions. Brokering an arrangement such as this adds to our well-established college-going culture and substantially expands the value proposition we are able to make to parents and students, added Walton.
