April 9, 2015 (Jackson) - Belhaven Theatre Department's The Descent/Lifted Me will premiere April 15 in the Blackbox Theatre. Associate Professor of Theatre Joseph Frost and cast members explored the genre of devised theatre and created the play during rehearsals. Interwoven story lines will explore descensions, ascensions and resurrections.
“It's fascinating to watch how the performers and the director have woven together a disparate set of stories into a cohesive narrative of despair and redemption,” said Dr. Elizabeth Sartwell, Chair of Theatre Department. “The production offers a series of short stories told in a variety of visual and aural ways. There is something that is bound to speak to each member of the audience and they will see the journeys that they themselves have taken and continue to take.”
