October 17, 2016 (Jackson, Miss.) - Dr. Angela Gaddis, chair and associate professor of social work, received the prestigious 2016 Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher Award. This award recognizes the contribution of humanities faculty at each of the state's colleges and universities.
Each honoree is required to deliver a public lecture. All recipients are then recognized at the Mississippi Humanities Council's annual awards banquet in the spring. Dr. Gaddis will be giving her presentation on October 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dr. Billy Kim International Center, Room 106.
Her lecture is entitled “The Effectiveness and Benefits of Simulative Experiential Learning in Social Work Education.” This event is free and open to the public, andthere will be a reception immediately following to honor Dr. Gaddis.
The Mississippi Humanities Council is a private nonprofit corporation funded by Congress through the National Endowment for the Humanities and provides public programs in traditional liberal arts disciplines to serve nonprofit groups in Mississippi.
