December 7, 2017 (Chattanooga, Tenn.) - Belhaven University's Chattanooga Campus will honor its graduating students during theChattanooga Commencement CeremonyDecember 15, 7 p.m. at The Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle.
The commencement speaker this year is Pastor Jim Suddath, chaplain, Bible teacher, and basketball coach at the McCallie School in Chattanooga. He studied economics and played basketball at Duke University, where he played his senior season under legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski. Following his graduation from Duke, Suddath was a teacher, coach and dorm parent at Woodward Academy in Atlanta. He later earned his Master of Divinity from Columbia Biblical Seminary and spent 25 years working in pastoral ministry, working at First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga as well as serving as senior pastor at churches in Jackson, Tennessee and Dalton, Georgia. He and his wife, Jenny, live in Belk Dorm and help to mentor the 10th-12th graders. They have three daughters and one son, Josh, who graduated from McCallie in 2003.
