September 6, 2017 (Jackson, Miss.) - American classical guitarist John De Chiaro will showcase his mastery during an evening of solo classical guitar. This special performance is on Tuesday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts' Instrumental Rehearsal Hall.
For audience members, this will be an opportunity to hear the first movement of Kermit Poling's new Concierto De Chiaro that features De Chiaro and the London Symphony Orchestra.
De Chiaro made his debut in 1976 in a Carnegie Hall performance that brought a rave review from the New York Times and launched a career of distinction. He has presented seven solo recitals at Carnegie Hall and more recently performed there with the Mississippi Guitar Quartet, an ensemble he established.
He has performed throughout the United States, South America, Canada, Europe and Mexico and has performed for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in Rome. He also was invited to perform for President and Mrs. Bill Clinton for two special Christmas functions at the White House.
