February 15, 2017 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven is the first university in Mississippi to be recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for high academic standards in its human resources curriculum.
SHRM acknowledged Belhaven's human resources concentration in both the Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Leadership programs.
“We are excited to have SHRM to review our human resource curriculum against the best practices in the industry,” said, Dr. Chip Mason, Belhaven's Dean of the School of Business.
The two master degree programs fully align with SHRM's HR Curriculum Guidebook, which defines education standards taught in university business schools and helps universities develop degree programs that follow these human resources guidelines.
Mason adds, “While not an accreditation, this close partnership will ensure that our human resource graduates are fully prepared to meet the challenges of the complex and ever-changing needs of the workforce.”
