November, 3, 2017 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven's Symphony Orchestra Concert will feature the talent of the University's top music students on Friday, November 17.
This free concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in Center for the Arts Concert Hall and will feature the famous masterwork byFelix Mendelssohn. His “Reformation Symphony No. 5 in D major” was composed in honor of the 300th anniversary of the presentation of theAugsburg Confession, a momentous event of theProtestant Reformation. Other music will include composer Richard Wagner's “Rienzi Overture.”
“You don't want to miss our most exciting and brilliant performance with our music students,faculty and outstanding community players,” said Song Xie, Associate Professor of Music. “I'm very proud of our student musicians with the Belhaven Symphony Orchestra who have worked diligently to achieve a higher level of excellence for this performance.”
