February 21, 2018 (Jackson, MIss.) - The Mississippi Communication Association (MCA) named Bill Moak, chair and assistant professor of Belhaven's Communication Department, the next chapter president.
The MCA is delighted to have Bill Moak as our president for the 2018-2019 term, said Dr. Brad Bailey, former MCA president. Our association aims to attract professionals andeducators and from all areas of the diverse fieldof communication.Bill's professional background spans journalism, public relations, corporate communications, social media, new media and communication education.He has practicedin the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and his real-world and academic experience in communication make him the ideal face to lead MCA.
MCA is a group of communications-related faculty and students from colleges and universities throughout Mississippi. They meet each year to hear research and share ideas about teaching in the communications disciplines that include public relations, journalism, and speech communications.
Moak, who previously served MCA as vice president, was announced during their annual meeting in Pearl, Miss. As president, Moak's responsibilities vary in degree. Moak adds, As president, my responsibilities will be to assist the incoming vice president with the annual conference, to provide vision and long-range planning, and to ensure that we continue to provide content that is relevant and helpful to the teaching of communication strategies in our colleges and universities.
