October 29, 2019 (Jackson, Miss) - New choreography, with styles from classical and contemporary ballet to modern dance, will be showcased at Belhaven's 2019 Fall Dance Concert.
This year's concert, presented by members of the Belhaven Dance Ensemble and DOXA, will feature the choreography of dance faculty and guest artists.
The 2019 Fall Dance Concert will featureArthur Saint-Leon and Marius Petipa's “Frescoes,”excerpts of “Swan Lake,” an original jazz work by Laura Morton, and new modern dance work by dance faculty Cynthia Newland and Erin Rockwell.
Additionally, the performance of “Bench Quartet” will be presented in the Fall Dance Concert by arrangement with Doug Varone and Dancers.Belhaven Dance Department alumna Whitney Dufrene, who is a member of Doug Varone and Dancers in New York City, staged the work on Belhaven students.
The Fall Dance Concert 2019 will be in the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Theatre.
