September 12, 2019 (Jackson, Miss.) - The 2019 Community Dance Concert, September 21 at 7 p.m., is a special one-night performance for both students and the community to experience the diversity of dance in Mississippi.
Faculty, students and alumni from Belhaven's Dance Department will join other local dance companies, schools and ministries to offer an inspiring evening of dance.The concert will feature performances by Power APAC Dance Department, Ballet Magnificat Trainee Company and Youth Ballet, Kinetic Etchings Dance Project, Intersect Dance Theatre, HUB Dance Collective, Mississippi School of the ArtsRepertoryDance Company, Two Diverse, and Salsa Mississippi.
The event will also feature a solo dance work, choreographed and performed by Belhaven Dance Department alumna Whitney Dufrene, who is a member of Doug Varone and Dancers in New York City.
This performance will be in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on Riverside Drive. General admission is $10 and $5 for seniors and students. Admission is free for Belhaven faculty, staff and students and their immediate families. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
