May 7, 2019 - Belhaven University is partnering with the Center for Legal Studies to provide legal studies certificates to its students. This partnership offers professional non-credit certificates in several legal subject areas to help students gain the skills and knowledge to advance their careers.
“Anyone interested in pursuing a career in the legal field has the opportunity to take specific skills training, targeted for legal careers,” said Vice President for Online Academic Affairs Dr. Audrey Kelleher. “We have had a long-standing relationship with the Center for Legal Studies and through the years many of our Belhaven students have taken advantage of this value-added training.”
The demand for trained legal professionals has never been higher. Major corporations, healthcare facilities, insurance companies, government agencies and law offices all employ students. Dr. Kelleher adds, “We have recently expanded our offerings to include many new certificate programs that will be available for the first time to Belhaven University students and are relevant to market demand.”
The certificate program is through an online platform and designed for beginning as well as advanced legal workers. Students will be trained to interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, prepare legal documents, assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation and more.
