April 1, 2021 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University's 2021 Spring Dance Concert will feature new choreography by dance faculty and guest artists. The choreographic works will range from humorous and joyful to introspective, and styles will include contemporary ballet, modern dance, and jazz.
Belhaven Dance Department faculty choreographers include Cynthia A. Newland, Laura Morton, and Clara Grace Watts. Guest choreographers include Caleb Mitchell, formerly with Houston Ballet, and Kellis McSparrin Oldenburg, dancer and rehearsal director for Marigny Opera Ballet in New Orleans.
The performance will be in the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center Studio and dates will include:
Thursday, April 8, 7 p.m.
Friday, April 9, 7 p.m.
Saturday, April 10, 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Advanced ticket reservations are required, and seating will be limited and socially distanced. Masks will be required. General admission is $10 and $5 for seniors and non-Belhaven University students. Admission is free for all Belhaven faculty, students, and immediate family.
