The Art of Andy Young on Display at Belhaven

February 9, 2021 (Jackson, Miss. ) The Belhaven University Visual Art Department is hosting “pen·ti·men·to, The Art of Andy Young,” January 11 - February 24 in the Bitsy Irby Gallery. This is an exhibition of the expressive large-scale glass panels and drawings of Andy Young, an internationally collected glass artist and owner of Pearl River Glass.

Young has been the president, owner, and gallery director for Pearl River Glass Studio since 1975 and has achieved numerous awards and grants. His stained-glass work can be seen in many churches throughout the south and he has been commissioned by such places as the Mississippi Museum of Art and Belhaven University.

In 2008, Young collaborated with Belhaven students to produce the Chandelier in the Rotunda of the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center.

Young will be leading several Master Classes, and teach students about his creative process and how he has made a living as a successful artist, businessman, and entrepreneur.
