Belhaven University Earns Top 2024-2025 Military Friendly School Award
April 2, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University announced today that it has earned the 2024-2025 Military Friendly® School designation for its long history of supporting the U.S. Military in their pursuit of higher education.
Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2024-2025 survey, and 537 schools earned awards level designations in Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Belhaven University was one of only 243 institutions selected for "Gold" award status for their leading practices, outcomes, and effective programs.
This award honors top colleges and universities in the country that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans, and spouses. The list provides a comprehensive guide to institutions that foster success on campus and after graduation and set the standard for providing the best opportunities.
“Military Friendly® is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process,” said National Director of Military Partnerships Kayla Lopez. “Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the Military Community. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages Institutions to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard.”
Institutions were selected based on student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence, and loan default rates for all students.
Belhaven University's Graduate and Online programs were recognized for their flexible formats, incentives, and financial aid options for military. Belhaven University Online was also acknowledged for its mobility, giving military the option to attend class from anywhere in the world.
Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by VIQTORY with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.
