Fall Discover Day to Showcase the Arts at Belhaven University

September 11, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University’s School of the Arts is set to host Arts Discover Day on Friday, October 18. This event will spotlight the University’s premier arts programs and is an important step for potential students deciding on a career in the arts.

This day is important for students interested in pursuing a major or minor in the arts, as well as those seeking to compete for scholarships. Faculty will review portfolios, and students will take part in auditions. Belhaven’s Dance Department will hold their Dance Audition Day the same day, October 18. 

During the event, professors will be on hand to answer questions, offer guidance, and share insights into various arts-related careers. Participants will also have the chance to tour the campus, meet with admissions staff, and engage with both faculty and current art students. Panel discussions featuring art majors and department chairs will offer a deeper dive into the degree programs and the University’s offerings.

In addition, prospective students can meet one-on-one with their personal admission counselors to discuss the enrollment process, covering topics such as applications and financial aid. Parents are encouraged to attend as well, with sessions designed to address their specific concerns and questions.

Register online for Arts Discover Day. As an added incentive, Belhaven University offers an additional $1,000 to the first-year scholarship package for students who attend one of the University’s Discover Days.
