Belhaven University Names New Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing

October 8, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University has appointed Suzanne Sullivan as Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing, effective November 15, 2024. Sullivan, a seasoned admissions professional with over three decades of experience, brings a deep passion for Christian higher education and a proven track record of success.

“No one knows Belhaven better, is more perfectly equipped, and has the wisdom and energy to take the vice president's role with us – we won't miss a step in the transition,” said Dr. Roger Parrott, President of Belhaven University. “I look forward to her serving with our administrative team and the privilege of working with her as she continues to grow our enrollment and expand our reach.”

Sullivan currently serves as Belhaven University’s Associate Vice President for Enrollment, overseeing both traditional as well as online admission and online student services.  Since she started working with our online program in 2015, the enrollment has doubled.

She has been in college admission for 32 years and served at two other Christian institutions before coming here – Bethel College and Union University. She has served on the board of the North American Coalition for Christian College Admission Professionals and on the Chief Enrollment Officer Commission of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Sullivan is a senior mentor to new admission professionals through NACCAP, investing in the next generation with her insights and expertise.

Sullivan is a member of the Mississippi Association of College Admission and Registrar Officers and served as president in 2010.  Suzanne is a leader of Executive Women International, where she served as Jackson's President in 2011 and again in 2021.  She is also a member of the Hope Hollow auxiliary, a ministry for special needs children.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mississippi State University and a Master of Business Administration from Belhaven University. She is an active member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, where she and her husband, James, are leaders in the Young Singles ministry.

Sullivan succeeds Dr. Kevin Russell, the current Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing, who has served in the role since 2002. “Kevin has been a champion for Belhaven at every turn, a wise counsel to me and the administrative team, and a dedicated leader of a team at 51 employees who work in this arena of responsibility,” observed Parrott. “His fingerprints of accomplishments are all over the campus. Over the past two decades, God has used Kevin enormously to help us grow, change, and respond to new opportunities. He has been deeply engaged in every new initiative, enrollment milestone, and program launch.”
