Belhaven University to Celebrate Fall 2024 Graduates
November 11, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) - Belhaven University will honor its Fall 2024 graduates with four commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 14, at the Belhaven Center for the Arts. Each ceremony will feature Belhaven University President Dr. Roger Parrott as the honored speaker.
Commencement will kick-off at 9 a.m. with a ceremony dedicated to graduates from the School of Education, including traditional and online.
At 11 a.m., graduates from STEM, nursing, humanities, arts, and ministry services will take the stage and will include both traditional and online.
The third ceremony, scheduled for 1 p.m., will recognize graduates from the Master of Science in Information Technology Management (MSITM), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Master of Organizational Leadership (MOL), and undergraduate business programs.
The day will conclude with a 3 p.m. ceremony for graduates earning degrees in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Sports Administration (MSA), and Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs.
Belhaven University President Dr. Roger Parrott will be the honored speaker for all commencement ceremonies. Dr. Parrott has served as Belhaven University’s president since 1996, overseeing significant growth and transformation within the institution. With over 30 years of experience in educational leadership, Dr. Parrott has been instrumental in expanding Belhaven’s academic programs, including adding highly regarded arts, STEM, and business programs that cater to students across traditional, adult, and online formats. His tenure has also marked the launch of unique initiatives to incorporate Christian faith deeply into Belhaven’s curriculum, aiming to develop both the character and intellect of students.
Dr. Parrott holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration and is the author of The Longview: Lasting Strategies for Rising Leaders and Opportunity Leadership: Stop Planning and Start Getting Results, books that reflect his philosophy on adaptive leadership and faith-driven planning. He is widely recognized for his servant leadership approach and often speaks at conferences, universities, and churches nationwide.
