Theatre Department to Present Festival of Shorts

November 6, 2024 (Jackson, Miss.) – Belhaven University’s Theatre Department will showcase the talent and creativity of its directing students in the annual Festival of Shorts, November 15-16, at 7:00 p.m. in Barber Theatre. The event, a popular tradition each fall, features a series of 10-minute plays that span a variety of genres, from comedy to drama and everything in between.

This year’s Festival of Shorts is directed entirely by students taking Belhaven’s Directing Class, who have selected cast and staged each of the plays. The event serves as a debut for many aspiring directors, allowing them to bring their vision to life in a supportive, professional environment.

The festival is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Seating is first come, first served, and attendees must be physically present to reserve a seat.

This is just one of the many exciting events from Belhaven's School of Arts. Check out Arts Ablaze for plays, dance and music concerts, poetry readings, gallery exhibits and more happening this year.
