Belhaven University Vocal Arts Ensemble Presents Seafaring Serenades

February 21, 2025 (Jackson, Miss.) – The Belhaven University Vocal Arts Ensemble will perform “Seafaring Serenades” in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on March 4. 

Directed by Belhaven Chair of Music Department Dr. Rebecca Geihsler, “Seafaring Serenades” will feature an enthralling selection of songs inspired by the sea, including traditional shanties and entrancing melodies of sirens and mermaids. The talented vocalists will take the audience on a maritime journey, bringing to life the adventurous spirit of sailors and the allure of mythical sea creatures.  

This unforgettable production is set to captivate your imagination and leave you longing for the open sea. “From thrilling pirate tales to the enchanting songs of mermaids and sirens, you’ll be swept away by melodies that celebrate the beauty and mystery of the ocean,” promises Dr. Geihsler.  

This free show is open to the public and begins at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
