Dr. Wendy Celoria Joins Belhaven University Faculty
March 17, 2025 (Jackson, Miss.) – Dr. Wendy Celoria has joined the Belhaven University faculty as assistant professor of counseling. She brings more than two decades of professional counseling experience and a deep commitment to educating and mentoring the next generation of counselors.
With a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Liberty University and dual master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling and Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. Celoria’s expertise spans clinical practice, counselor supervision, and academic instruction.
She has worked extensively in private practice, residential treatment programs, and educational settings, specializing in trauma recovery, addiction, eating disorders, and Christian counseling. Celoria has also contributed to the field through research and presentations, including co-authoring a recent publication on counseling Black women of Christian faith in the “Journal of Religion and Health.”

Dr. Justin Kelly, Belhaven’s Chair and Assistant Professor of Psychology, also welcomed Celoria, emphasizing the importance of her role at Belhaven. “We are thrilled to have Dr. Celoria join our faculty.
