STEM for the Win

Career opportunities in STEM fields — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — are rapidly growing across the United States. Join our STEM community and learn how to provide scientific insight to help our world with a financially rewarding career.

Our STEM departments encourage community among our students as we recognize that the future of science is team-based and interdisciplinary. Many of our students double major or minor in other STEM fields, setting them up for diverse opportunities.

Our expert faculty members consistently develop new cutting-edge programs that meet innovation and carry it forward. Our graduates are also pushing the boundaries of these fields by excelling in their careers and in graduate studies.

Earn Your Nursing Degree at Belhaven

Because the STEM field is closely related to health care, our faculty members are also linked to the School of Nursing. Our professors advise and instruct pre-nursing majors, ensuring they have a great start to their Belhaven journey.

We offer two ways to earn the nursing bachelor’s degree. Students new to the field can earn a BSN in four years on our traditional campus. Nurses with an associate degree or diploma in nursing can earn it in two through our online RN/BSN program. Your advisor can help you with course information and scholarship options.

More about the School of Nursing

"Belhaven gave me an opportunity to study Chemistry while playing soccer. My degree will give me the opportunity to work anywhere. My experience has been unforgettable."

Rodrigo Suarez

"I wanted to come to Belhaven because it was closer to home, had a great teacher to student ratio, and also because when I came for a visit, I immediately felt at home on campus. After I graduate with my degree, I am planning on attending law school and hopefully will become a licensed attorney."

Zachary Canoy

"I played for the women's soccer team and became so close to my coach and teammates. I knew the girls counted on me and I never wanted to let them down. This responsibility has helped to develop character and has made me who I am today. Because of my degree from Belhaven University I plan to attend a Physical Therapy or Physician’s Assistant school and further my education."

"Though all of the relationships I have formed at Belhaven have greatly impacted me, the relationship with my fellow Biology majors has impacted me the most. My class is really encouraging and often stop and help others when studying or working in the classroom. We are growing together!"

Angela Meadows

"I have made such significant relationships with my teammates over the years that has meant a lot to me. Being on an athletic team means that you already have a group of friends before you even meet them. Because of my degree from Belhaven, it will make me competitive for any position I apply for if I do what’s necessary in the classroom now."

Sean McCullough

Anna Caime

"Smaller class sizes is one of my favorite things about my department. By having smaller groups, the instructors are really able to reach everyone academically. We are able to dive deep into our studies and are getting more out of each lesson."

Anna Caime

"My relationships with the members of the football team have meant a lot to me. We are all friends, but really it's more like we're brothers. I want to go on to Physical Therapy school and open up my own sports physical therapy place where I can help other athletes."
