Everything You Need to Start Online Classes
You're a Blazer now! It's time for financial aid forms, online orientation, connecting to the student portal, and a few other new-student checklist items. Our Student Services team is standing by to answer any questions, so let's get started.
Getting Started
We believe relationships are important to your success, that’s why you’ll have a student services advisor that will support you throughout your educational journey at Belhaven. They will be resource for you for registration, Canvas navigation, and communicating with faculty when needed. Our advisors are trained and ready to assist you. While they will reach out to you often, feel free to contact them when you have a question or concern.
Please email onlinestudentservices@belhaven.edu or call 601-968-8881 during business hours (M-F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT) with any questions. Please don’t hesitate to contact us — we’re here to help!
Current students can find additional details about advising in BlazeNet.
To be eligible for scholarships, grants, and other financial support, you need to complete and submit your FAFSA — the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Be sure to list Belhaven University as one of the colleges to receive the results of your evaluation!
Belhaven’s FAFSA School Code: 002397
Before you start classes, you’ll need to complete the mandatory online orientation. Your student services representative will be in touch regarding registration and orientation. You’ll also receive orientation instructions with your acceptance letter.
Getting Connected
BlazeNet is our online student information system — you’ll receive login instructions in your acceptance letter. This is the place to register for classes, check your grades, update your account information, make an online payment, and accept your financial aid awards.
It’s also the central hub for campus departments to post information for all students — announcements, forms, policies, handbooks, and more.
As an accepted student, you’ve been assigned a Belhaven email address. Be sure to check it regularly for important notifications and reminders.
We’ll send your email account details soon after your acceptance letter. Once you have access to BlazeNet, you can view instructions to forward your Belhaven e-mail to your personal e-mail account.
Canvas is the learning management system that Belhaven uses for online education. This platform simplifies teaching and learning by connecting all the digital tools professors use in one easy place.
You’ll use Canvas to review the syllabus, participate in class lectures, post discussions, access course modules, and submit assignments.
